„Daydream Stories“ Performance

In the live performance “Daydream Stories”, Nezaket Ekici will sit on the same bench and in the same dress in front of the poster “Daydream Mumbai”, which hangs on the Kunstbrücke in Wildenbruch. She will assume various movements and positions on the bench, including the position shown on the poster, while looking into the camera in front of her. It looks as if she has stepped out of the picture.
In between, while she moves or stays in one position, she tells stories about her performance that she heard in Mumbai. But she doesn’t stop there: Daydream is like a wandering daydream. As she performs new movements and stays in new positions, she will tell more daydream stories. Ekici travels constantly with the bench and dress, and has already performed Daydream in nine places around the world, from the Baltic Sea to America and China, collecting these stories.
The audience learns about the difficulties and challenges that a simple bench can bring.
