Closing Event
Earth’s Shadow, Moon’s Crust
You are warmly invited to the finissage with artists Stella Geppert, Alice Dittmar, and curator Ece Pazarbaşı.
“Earth’s Shadow, Moon’s Crust” is an exhibition that explores our enduring fascination with the moon—not as a distant celestial body, but as a mirror of our earthly existence. Curated by Ece Pazarbaşı, the exhibition brings together works by Alice Dittmar and Stella Geppert that ask: How do we perceive the moon—starting from our own vantage point, grounded in our bodies, our breath, and the natural rhythms of the Earth?
Anchored in the phases of the moon and the solstices, the exhibition unfolds through sculptural, performative, and poetic works that blur the boundaries between the personal and the planetary. It suggests that our understanding of the cosmos begins here—within the textures of substances and materials, in the rhythm of breath, and in the reflective qualities of water.
The public program includes a sound performance by Seiji Morimoto and a choreographed live performance by Stella Geppert in collaboration with Lyllie Rouvière. Both events are synchronized with specific phases of the moon and deepen the dialogue between celestial movement and human experience.
“Earth’s Shadow, Moon’s Crust” invites us to explore the moon not only through scientific or symbolic lenses, but through embodied perception—where looking outward also becomes a gesture of looking within.
