An out of the ordinary art venue is being set up in the middle of North Neukölln: Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch. The new municipal gallery opens with an exhibition based around water—fundamental to all life on Earth — in the strange rooms of a historical toilet facility on Neukölln’s shipping canal. How do ecosystems develop when climate change causes shifts in the global water balance? What are the consequences of human intervention in natural cycles and how can balance be restored?
The artists in the exhibition deal with water as a habitat and address its socio-political dimensions but they are also fascinated by the physical existence of water and reveal some of its magical powers.
