Vernissage and Performance
EARTH'S SHADOW, MOON'S CRUST
Welcome: Diana Nowak
Introduction: Alice Dittmar, Stella Geppert, and Ece Pazarbaşı
The exhibition Earth’s Shadow, Moon’s Crust is dedicated to humanity’s fascination with the moon—as a mirror of our inner and outer worlds. Starting from an earthly vantage point, it explores how our understanding of the moon is shaped by natural elements such as water, stone, and breath. Through performances, installations, and a programme oriented around the phases of the moon, the exhibition interweaves planetary rhythms with human perception.
Performance at 9:00 PM (Waning Gibbous):
TYCHO by Seiji Morimoto
A sound performance using feedback systems, contact microphones, and electronics—paying homage to Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546–1601) and his 1572 observation of a supernova. TYCHO is a sonic tribute to astronomical imagination and celestial discovery.
