Holy Shit

In Holy Shit, Alex Lebus transforms Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch into a space between intimacy and publicness, the sacred and the profane. Taking the site’s history as a public toilet as her starting point, she intertwines religious imagery with questions of truth, cleansing, and self-determination. Mirrors, tiles, wax, wood, and glass shape thematic rooms – from penance to paradise – in which Christian iconography is reinterpreted for the present.
