The Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch cordially invites you to the opening of the exhibition Berlin, the Bitch and the Witch, which brings together twelve artistic positions that use magic as a tool to reexamine life in the city. The focus is on what remains invisible in a present shaped by capital and efficiency: care, vulnerability, healing, resistance, and forms of connectedness.
Building on the historical instrumentalization of labels such as “witch” and “bitch” as means of control and exclusion, these terms are here redefined as acts of resistant self-positioning. The works span installation, performance, sound, and video, exploring how bodies, materials, and memories are interconnected. In doing so, the focus shifts to networks, fragile structures, and collective processes that serve as counter-narratives to isolated and functionalized ways of life.
The exhibition is conceived as a dynamic structure that is continuously supplemented by performances throughout its duration.
